Hisashi Tonomura (Wai Cun Shang, Tonomura Hisashi – born February 2, 1972 in Hirosaki Aomori), also known by his stage name HISASHI, is a Japanese musician who is best known for being the lead guitarist for the rock band Glay. Tokai is a brand he is most associated with. He designed a series personal signature guitars based on the Talbo model.

Hisashi founded the side-band Rally along with Teru (GLAY), Kouji Ureno (The Hiatus, ex-Thee Michelle Gun Elephant), and Motokatsu Myagami. The band recorded “Aku no Hana”, a song dedicated to Buck-Tick, for Parade -Respective Tracks from Buck-Tick-. They have performed at festivals. Hisashi also formed Ace of Spades in 2012 as a side-project. They released a single, “Wild Tribe”, and performed a few gigs. Hisashi recorded and composed the theme “Monochrome Overdrive” in 2013 for the anime television series Z/X Ignition.

Hisashi arranges the guitar solos and guitar lines for all GLAY songs. He is also the second most active songwriter for GLAY after Takuro. Hisashi’s songs often have strong electronic and punk influences. Hisashi’s lyrics are more abstract and metaphorical that those of Takuro or the other members. Hisashi has contributed many instrumental tracks to the band’s albums as well as live performances. His song “EverKrack”, which he recorded in 2011, was the first to receive an official music video. His next official video came in 2016, an animated production called “Kanojo wa Zombie”, for their single “G4IV”, and it reached #1 on Oricon’s singles chart at the 44th anniversary of his birth.
