Wisman was dismissed as Armenia’s national team manager on 7 April 2006. He also quit his position as Pyunik manager during the 2006-07 season and signed for Fortuna Sittard in the Netherlands. According to the club, his poor relationship with the team led to him being fired on 15 December 2007.
In May 2005, Wisman took over the position from Bernard Casoni. Wisman is an international coach and also coaches the Armenian club FC Pyunik. He led them to their fifth consecutive league title at the close of 2005.

Wisman was born and raised in Amsterdam. After playing in the youth program, Wisman began his professional career at AFC Ajax. As a player, he gained international experience playing as a youth in the Dutch Under-16, U-17, U-18, and Under-21 soccer teams. Wisman was selected for the first Ajax team. Wisman quit Ajax after eight years and moved on to SC Amersfoort and FC Amsterdam (until 1975). For a brief time, he was a coach and player at amateur level.
Wisman spent 19 years with Dutch amateur clubs before he became the head coach at FC Volendam, then later FC Den Bosch.
