Hanna Bisiw was a Ghanaian born in Techimantia, Brong Ahafo Region. After graduating from Kumasi Girls Secondary School in her senior high school education, she was awarded a scholarship to Cuba where she studied veterinary medicine (1999).
Bisiw returned to Ghana in 2008 and worked at Veterinary Hospitals. She also collaborated on projects between Ghana and Cuba. She became involved in politics in 2008 From being a member of NDC Manifesto Committee (2008), she rose to become the Deputy Secretary of State (Ministry of Water Resources, Works and Housing (2009)), Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture and Member of Parliament Tano South (2012 – 2017).
Hanna Bissiw lost her parliamentary seat of the Tano South Constituency in the Brong Ahafo Region on the ticket of the National Democratic Congressin the 2016 parliamentary elections. It was alleged by some of her constituents that after losing her seat she made efforts to retrieve hospital supplies she had earlier donated to a hospital in her constituency. She denied the allegation citing that her intention was misconstrued by the report.
