Henry Franklin Fraley Jr., an American football coach who was born September 21, 1977, is now the offensive line coach of the Detroit Lions (NFL). Prior to joining the Lions, he was an assistant offensive coach with the Minnesota Vikings. Fraley, originally from Gaithersburg in Maryland, played college football at Robert Morris University. He was signed by the Steelers as an undrafted agent in 2000. Fraley, who was waived prior to the 2000 season, was claimed off waivers in Philadelphia by the Eagles. He played center for Philadelphia Eagles for five seasons. Fraley was traded to the Cleveland Browns after he lost his starting job to Jamaal Jones before the 2006 season. He was a Browns player for four seasons, and a St. Louis Rams player for one season.
Fraley played in all 16 regular-season games and two postseason games during 2002 season. Fraley was part of the offensive line that helped the Eagles to score 25.9 points per games, which is the fourth-highest in the NFL.
He started the first eight games of the 2005 season, but suffered a shoulder injury at the Washington Redskins on November 6 which ruled him out for the rest of the season.
Hank grew up in Gaithersburg Maryland attending Gaithersburg High School. Prior to starting his NFL career, Fraley planned on teaching history and coaching football. He is married to Danielle (May 26, 2006), and they live in Chaska, Minnesota with their five Children: Trent, Mason, Travis, Beau, and Scarlett. They have one yellow labs, Wingman, a Leonberger named Uschi and two cats Cynder and Spyro.
After being released by Steelers in 2000, Fraley was claimed by the Philadelphia Eagles from waivers. Fraley was inactive throughout the 2000 season. Fraley was penalized for an illegal downfield block in his first NFL game, against the St. Louis Rams, September 9, 2001. In 2001, he played in 15 games.
