His Torquay debut was on 12 August 2000. He lost 2-0 to Kidderminster Harriers. His first goal came two weeks later, in a 3-2 victory home to Blackpool. Sissoko failed to make a name for himself in Torquay’s struggling team despite a positive start to his Plainmoor career. After an angry reaction to being replaced in the defeat against Plymouth Argyle, Sisoko was fired by the club on 23/04 2001.

He was released at the end of the season and in October 2005 he looked set to sign for Belgian side Louvière until the end of the season, but it fell through. On 16 November 2005, he signed for FC Rouen. His contract with Rouen was terminated in March 2006, ‘a victim of his bad temper’.

Sisoko was born in Juvisy-sur-Orge in Essonne. He joined Olympique Noisy-le- Sec 1996 and then moved on to CS Louhans-Cuiseaux for the 1997 close season. In February 1998, he joined Preston North End, making his league debut as a substitute for Kurt Nogan in the second half. He was a draw away to Wycombe Wanderers, 21 February 1998. Before being released at season’s end, he played seven games for North End.

He joined Uniao Leiria in Portugal in October 1998, and later joined Cappelen in Belgium for the 1999-2000 season. After the season was over, he was released and returned to England. He signed a free transfer to Torquay United in July 2000. He was one of three French players who played for Torquay in that season. The others were Jules Mendy, Khalid Chalqi.

Airdrieonians trialled him in August 1998. He scored a late win on his first appearance, having been a substitute for Stuart Taylor on the 22 August 1998 home match against St Mirren.

In July 2001, Sissoko signed for Parisian side Red Star 93. He subsequently played for Nîmes Olympique before joining Stade Brestois 29 in 2003, immediately becoming embroiled in controversy. On leaving Nîmes he still had a three match suspension in place, but played in the first three games for Brest after his move, against AS Cannes, US Raon-l’Étape and Libourne-Saint-Seurin. Brest won all three games and the three clubs appealed. However, the French Football Federation rejected the appeal and allowed the results to stand, confirming Brest’s promotion to League 2 instead of Cannes, who Sissoko subsequently joined in 2004.
