Seijbold was born in Stockholm and was raised in Stockholm. Seijbold’s father Olle Seijbold also worked as a photographer and captured pictures from his father’s photos of the Swedish exile of Baltic soldiers in 1945.

Seijbold passed away on April 25, 2020 following a bout of COVID-19. Seijbold was ill for about a month, and spent the final week in hospital.

Seijbold served as the Swedish official photographer of the Swedish government, and was also the photographer for the Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt in his trip to meet with American US president Barack Obama in the White House in 2009. Seijbold was also an officially appointed European Union photographer during Sweden’s time as the Union’s leader in 2009. In this capacity, he made available photos from official gatherings and work to the press around the world.
