Guan Zhen (simplified Chinese: Guan Zhen ; traditional Chinese: Guan Zhen ; pinyin: Guan Zhen ; born on the 6th of February, 1985 at Tianjin) is a Chinese international football player who currently is a goalkeeper for Shenzhen FC.
Guan is the top choice goalie for The Chinese U-20 team prior to they played in 2005’s FIFA World Youth Championship that was supervised by Eckhard Krautzun. He was eliminated after suffering an injury during the event by his colleague Wang Yongpo. Guan would then be promoted to Chinese U-23 team and was part of the team that participated during the Football at the 2006 Asian Games but it was not until after an excellent beginning in the Chinese Super League season with Jiangsu Sainty before Guan would be included in Gao Hongbo’s team to take on Kyrgyzstan with a 3-0 victory on the 25th of July of 2009, where he was called in as a substitute in place of Zeng Cheng. The performance was enough to allow him to try out for the 2010 East Asian Football Championship and later added to the team to play in AFC Asian Cup in
- 2011 AFC Asian Cup.
Guan scored his first ever goal in his 100th top-tier match on May 8, 2016, converting a penalty in a 2–1 loss against Shanghai SIPG. Yasen Petrov, manager of Shijiazhuang, expressed that Guan would be the first penalty kicker of the club until he missed. He scored his second penalty on May 22, 2016, in a 1–1 home draw against Beijing Guoan. On June 19, 2016, Guan missed a penalty in a 1–0 victory against Henan Jianye before his teammate Rúben Micael took the other penalty of the match.
On February 8, 2017, Guan transferred to China League One side Shenzhen FC.
He joined second-tier team Jiangsu Sainty at the beginning of the league season in 2008 and was then immediately made their primary goalie in the squad. He performed extremely well enough to assist the club’s push to be promoted into the Chinese Super League by aiding their team to win their 2008 Chinese League One title. In the following season, Guan’s former teammate Deng Xiaofei came into the club, and for a brief period, was replaced by Guan to become the club’s primary goalie, but Guan would gain his spot in the team, and also help establish Jiangsu in the top league.

Guan was to make his debut for the senior team on the 16th of March 2003, with Shandong Luneng in a league match against Yunnan Hongta. Guan’s appearance made Guan the youngest goalie to ever play in the top league of the Chinese league system. However, the record was eventually set with the help of Wang Dalei. After his debut , he was to serve as an understudy for Zong Lei as well as Deng Xiaofei over the course of several seasons, but Shandong Luneng would bring in Li Leilei in the 2006 league season. Guan was loaned in the 2006 league season to Chengdu Wuniu.
Guan was able to join second-tier side Chengdu Wuniu on loan in 2006 to increase his playing time, but was not able to become their primary goalie. He would later return with Shandong Luneng where he would continue to be utilized as a third-choice goalie. Ineffective in improving his place in the team, Shandong Luneng were willing to let Guan go at the close of the 2007 league season.
In January 2015, Guan transferred to fellow Chinese Super League side Shijiazhuang Ever Bright.
