Franchi made the move to Signature and joined the Formula 3 Euro Series in 2004 after finishing the season on the 29th place. He was in the this series until the following season however, he changed teams into the Prema Powerteam. He climbed to 17th in the standings, and also scored four points.
In 2007, Franchi moved to touring car and GT racing, competing in series such as Eurocup Mégane Trophy, FIA GT, Belcar and FFSA GT Championship.
The year 2003 saw Franchi was promoted to the Italian Formula Three Championship with the Lucidi Motors team. He placed third overall after getting four podium spots. He also appeared as guest driver in the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in British Formula 3.

After winning on the Autodromo do Estoril in the Formula Renault 2000 Eurocup in 2001, he returned in 2002, but he changed to the ADM Junior Team. He placed 39th, but did not score points. He also took part in three races in the Italian Formula Renault Championship with the same team.
Franchi began his karting journey in 2000. He won the 36th position in the European Championship Formula A.
In 2006 he stepped up to the Formula Renault 3.5 Series with Prema Powerteam. He took ten points, finishing in third place at Monaco race that was part of the Formula One Grand Prix weekend. It was single points for him and he received 25th final position in standings.
