Gregory Shipperd (born 13 November 1956) is an Australian cricket coach and former player who is currently the director of Sydney Sixers. Sydney Sixers coaching them to the Big Bash League title in BBL09 in 2019-20. He also was the coach of the Delhi Daredevils. As as a player, he was a part of Western Australia from 1977-78 to 1984-85. He then concluded his career in Tasmania in the 1990-91 season. He later became a coach in Tasmania as well as Victoria and also coaching stints with the twenty-20 cricket teams Melbourne Stars and Delhi Daredevils.
In the wake of the launch of the Big Bash League for the season 2011/12, Shipperd was appointed the first director of Melbourne Stars. Melbourne Stars. He guided his team of Stars into the semi-finals the four seasons he was in charge however, each time they had defeated at the semi-finals. Following in the 2014-15 Big Bash League season he was dismissed as the head coach.
Relocating back to Victoria Shipperd was made the assistant coach for Victoria. He was appointed assistant coach in 2004 after David Hookes was killed. He coached Victoria the very first Pura Cup title since 1990-91. He coached Victoria to four Sheffield Shield titles (2003/04, 2008/09 2009/10 2014/15) and One National One-Day Cup (2010/11) and four Big Bash titles (2005/06, 2006/07, 2007/08and 2009/10). Then, at the conclusion of the season of 2014/15, Victoria was able to decide to break off with Shipperd, despite winning this year’s Sheffield Shield.
