Witthaya Laohakul is one of the most popular and richest Football Manager who was born on February 1, 1954 in Lamphun, Thailand. Witthaya Laohakul, or Witthaya Hloagune was previously known as “Heng” (Lucky) (Thai: withyaa elaahkul ; born 1 February 1954) is a Thai football coach and former player. The technical director was in charge for Thai football from 2016 until the year 2018. He was his first Thai footballer to be a part of an European club in Hertha BSC, a German Bundesliga side Hertha BSC.
As of 1988 Laohakul took on the role of assistant coach for Gamba Osaka, a founding member of the J League in 1992.
In 2004, he took over the Chonburi F.C. and next year he led Chonburi to win the Provincial League and promote to the Thai Premier League in the 2006 season.
In 2011 he joined Chonburi again as club manager but at the end of the 2013 Thai Premier League Witthaya resigned from his position to work as technical director.
After his experience at Saarbrucken the player returned in Thailand to play for Rajpracha for a brief period. Then, in 1986, he went back to Japan again , this time as a player with Matsushita FC.

Laohakul is a native of Lamphun Province, Thailand. His career in football began with Rajpracha the football club that was based in Bangkok. Following that, the club joined Yanmar Diesel in 1977. His move to Yanmar Diesel was his first Thai to play in Japan.
When he joined Hertha BSC in 1979, it was his first time as a Thai to play in the German league Bundesliga. He made just 33 league appearances over three years with the club. After his move to 1. FC Saarbrucken, it was better for him , and he played at least 53 league matches in the span of two years and scored seven goals. The greatest success during this time led to him winning the title of Oberliga Sudwest in the 1982-83 season, and then elevated into the 2. Bundesliga.
Returning to Thailand, he took over the Bangkok Bank F.C. and led the club to the first place in the 1996–97 Thailand Soccer League and qualification for the AFC Champions League. In 1997, he was be rewarded coach of the year.
