Graeme Armstrong (born 23 June 1956) is an Scottish retired footballer from Scotland. The most notable thing about him is the long-lasting nature of his playing career which included an Scottish record of 910 league matches during a period of 26 years between 1975 between 1975 and 2001. With the exception of cup matches, Armstrong is one of only a handful of players to have more than 1,000 appearances in a career.

The year 2007 was the time he steered Newtongrange towards the Scottish Youth football association’s East Region, South Division championship as well as advancement towards the Premier League. On April 8th, Graeme Armstrong resigned from his position as the manager of junior side Newtongrange Star after 6 years.

Armstrong was hired by Alloa Athletic as assistant-manager, being an active player the next day. Armstrong played one game for Alloa in the role of an extra player in April 2001, and at 44 years old and then resigned. He was removed at the request of Alloa on January 3, 2003 as part an effort to reduce expenses.

In Edinburgh, Armstrong began his career with the non-leagues of Scotland where he played as an experimenter at Meadowbank Thistle, before being hired to Stirling Albion in 1975, making his debut in the league on the 26th of April, 1975. In the following six seasons “Louis” played in 204 games for the Yo-Yo’s, before transfer into Berwick Rangers and then spending 10 years with Meadowbank Thistle.

He later moved to Stenhousemuir which is where he eventually was appointed manager and led the team to promotion. Armstrong was fired in April 2000, while Stenhousemuir fighting to avoid the prospect of relegation. As of 2005, Armstrong got voted as Stenhousemuir’s greatest cult hero by the viewers on The BBC’s Football Focus.
