Giorgi Baramidze is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on January 5, 1968 in Georgia. Baramidze was born the 5th of January of 1968 at Tbilisi, Georgia. Baramidze graduated from Georgia’s Department of Chemical Technologies of the Georgian Technical University in 1992. While at the university, he served as co-founder and one of the leading figures of the student movement. The year 1990 was the time he teamed up with other activists to form and leading the Green Party of Georgia. After graduating of the University in 1992, he was employed as the director of a department within the Committee of Human Rights and National Minorities. The year 1995 was the time he received his degree from the George C. Marshall Center for European Security Studies and Defense Economics in Garmisch, Germany.

In the 1995 parliamentary election the candidate was to the parliamentary seat of Didube district in Tbilisi. In 1996 the year He was elected Chairman of Investigation Commission of Parliamentary Anti-Corruption Committee. In the course of his anti-corruption efforts, he arranged the following ministers quit their posts: D. Gulua (Minister of Agriculture), P. Injia (Minister of Communications and Postage), D. Zubitashvili (Minister of Energy), D. Iakobidze (Minister of Finance) and D. Eliashvili (Chairman of Department of Gas of Georgia) of them.

From 1998 through 1999, Baramidze worked as an Associate Researcher at Institute for the Study of Diplomacy of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., conducting research on U.S. government policy, structures and functions as well as on political, military and defense issues in Caucasus. In 1999, he worked with Senator Carl Levin in the United States Senate Committee on Armed Services.

Upon his return to Georgia in 1999, he was re-elected to the parliament from Didube district and elected Chairman of Defence and Security Committee in 2000 and Chairman of Faction of the United Democrats of Parliament of Georgia in 2002, subsequently playing an active role in the Rose Revolution in November

Following the beginning of the operation by the military in Abkhazia beginning in the year 1992, Abkhazia was appointed the head of the Green Party Humanitarian Aid Office in charge of the distribution of humanitarian aid, the removal of the peaceful population from the territories of occupation, and the release of Georgian hostages. He was credited with the release of 200 Georgian prisoners as well as facilitating the rescue of more than 3,000 Georgian civilians fleeing the conflict zone. He was later involved in the combat actions in Labra village in Ochamchire district and the area around Sukhumi.
