Flaherty is an ex- Arsenal Ladies player who began her career with Millwall Lionesses’ youth teams. She is usually in the center back position. Flaherty joined Arsenal after a successful trial at the club in 2003. She participated in the club’s youth program that played for the under 14s team. Flaherty was able to progress through the club and made it from the bench to make her senior debut in the month of October 2006, against Birmingham City, in a League Cup match, when she was just 15 years old.
