Clements suffered a stroke on October 12, 2019. He died on November 25, 2019, at a hospital in Hammond, Indiana, from a heart attack at the age of 87. His death was confirmed by his longtime colleague and St. Sabina pastor Michael Pfleger and all of Clements’ four adopted sons.
