He completed his education at Ooramana High School, and then graduated (B.A. Political Science) in St.Peter’s College, Kolencherry. In the year 1980, he received his B.Th. at The Malankara Syrian Orthodox Theological Seminary, Udayagiri. He was ordained a Deacon through Mor Gregory Geevarghese Metropolitan in 1989.
Then he enrolled in United Theological College in Bangalore for the Bachelor degree in Divinity. He obtained in 1993. In the following years, he was a lecturer at the Malankara Syrian Orthodox Theological Seminary, Mulanthuruthy (Ernakulam District) for a period of 3 years (1993-1995). Additionally, he served as the Secretary for Organizing of the ‘Syrian Orthodox Christians Student Movement’. In 1995, he traveled to Germany to pursue higher studies. In Germany He was educated his studies in German as well as Latin languages at the Ostkirchliches Institute, and also obtained a Doctor of Theology from The Catholic Faculty of the University of Regensburg. His thesis was on “Den Armen gehoert das Reich Gotttes. Lukanische Impulse fuer ein Dalit Theologie”. In 2002, he returned in India and continued his work as an instructor at M.S.O.T Seminary.
