Gareth Raynor (born 24 February 1978) is an English former professional union and league player who played his last game with the London Skolars in Kingstone Press Championship 1. He was an ex- Great Britain international who previously played for Hull FC, the Crusaders and the Leeds Rhinos, and the Bradford Bulls in the Super League. Also, he played for the Aviva Premiership side, Leicester Tigers.
It was necessary to take himself out of the England training team in 2008’s Rugby League World Cup through an injury.
Raynor was jailed for 15 months on 17 May 2010 for his part in an eBay ink cartridges and computer games scam and breaching a suspended sentence for assault. Despite a lucrative rugby career Raynors scam netted over £36k. He imported fake ink and Nintendo games cartridges from the Far East and re- packed it. He was caught after a complaint from EPSON ink manufacturers which made test buys from his eBay site.
For 2010’s Super League XV, Raynor signed for Crusaders on a short-term deal, pending the results of his upcoming court case. During the opening match of 2010’s Super League XV against Leeds Rhinos, Raynor scored Crusaders first try of the season and only try of the match, going on to lose 34–6.
Raynor had a long-running career player at Hull F.C. after a great season on the wing , scoring 18 tries across all competitions by the end of 2005. Raynor was a Hull player in Hull as a centre player in the 2005 Challenge Cup final, scoring an attempt in their win over the Leeds Rhinos. Hull were in their 2005 Super League Grand final to play by St. Helens, and Raynor was on the wing in the team’s 426 loss. Raynor was the first Great Britain international, starring in the 2006 Tri Nations.

Gareth moved from Leeds during the summer of 2000. He played three of the off the bench performance for Leeds Rhinos. With only a few minutes of games played Gareth made the move from Leeds to Hull F.C. for a two-year deal. An injury to the established player Chris Smith led to more games than was expected in Raynor and he quickly became a fan favorite. Following in 2002’s Super League season, he returned to the union game and was a part of The Leicester Tigers. He played four times in the 2002-03 season for Leicester Tigers with two from the substitute bench , before departing to play in the Rugby League with Hull F.C. in the middle of 2003’s Super League VIII.
Raynor was born in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England He began his professional career in the sport of rugby union as a center. He started his career in Pontefract RU and later moved to Castleford Panthers before Leeds Tykes noticed his performance and became enthralled. Then it was only a matter of time that he was transferred to the Tykes in the year 2000. He appeared in 8 games (4 as a substitute) as a substitute Tykes for their division One season.
On 16 September 2010 it was confirmed that he had signed a 1-year deal with the Bradford Bulls. Raynor featured in three of the four pre-season games. He played against Halifax, Dewsbury Rams and Wakefield Trinity Wildcats. He scored a try against Halifax.
