Franklin Lobos is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on June 2, 1957 in Copiapó, Atacama Region, Chile. Franklin Erasmo Lobos Ramirez (born June 2, 1957 in Copiapo) is a retired Chilean footballer. Lobos began his career in 1980 with Regional Atacama, and retired in 1995. He was a player for the same team that which he began his career with. He was dubbed”El Mortero Magico (The Magic Mortar). He was eventually miner and was among miner who were trapped under the ground for 2 months as a result of the year 2010’s Copiapo mining disaster. On the 13th of October, the 13th of October, Lobos was among the 33 miners who were saved.

Before leaving the high-level football around 1995 Lobos had played with a several clubs, such as La Serena, Santiago Wanderers, Municipal Iquique and Union La Calera.

Lobos were a part of Chile during Lobos represented Chile in CONMEBOL Men Pre- Olympic Tournament, which was a qualifying event in 1984 for Olympic Games.

Lobos made his professional debut with Chilean second Division club Regional Atacama in 1980, scoring in his first game for the team. After the departure of Regional Atacama in 1981, Lobos was a part of Deportes Antofagasta before moving to Cobresal in 1983.

In the first of two years as a member of Cobresal, Lobos tasted success during his first year as the team representing the tiny mine town in El Salvador won the 1983 Second Division title. In the national championships of Chile in 1984 Cobresal finished second. Lobos was back with Deportes Antofagasta for 1986 and 1987. He returned to the club in 1988. joined Cobresal which he played with until 1989.

After his sporting career ended Lobos became a taxi-driver and, in 2005, a miner. He worked as a truck driver in the Copiapó mine, where in August 2010, he was one of the 33 miners trapped in the 2010 Copiapó mining accident. He was the 27th miner to be rescued on October 13 and thus holds the record for the seventh longest time ever being trapped underground. Guinness World Records was asked by the rescue team for all the miners, including Lobos, to be honored with the record.
