Flor Ramos Contemplacion (January 7 1953 – March 17 April, 1995) was a Filipina domestic worker who was executed by Singapore in the year 1953 for murder. Her execution was a major strain on relationships among Singapore as well as the Philippines and caused a lot of Filipinos to voice their displeasure regarding the suffering of Overseas Filipino Workers towards both government officials of both states.
Contemplacion was hanged in the early hours of dawn on March 17, 1995, in the Changi Women’s Prison and Drug Rehabilitation Centre despite an appeal for clemency towards the Singaporean government by Philippine Presidency Fidel Ramos.

On May 4, in 1991 Delia Mamaril Maga (born on the 6th of October 1955, in Tarlac) was an Filipino housekeeper, discovered dead in Singapore. A three- year-old boynamed Nicholas Huang, whom Maga was caring for was found drowned. While Huang’s father was unable to determine the identity of a suspect, police were able to identify Contemplacion in Maga’s journal. The police took in Contemplacion and she initially admitted to the crime of shooting Maga along with Huang. Contemplacion did not retract her confession as well as she was later found guilty by the Philippine Embassy in Singapore deemed her confession as credible. She was sentenced to be executed by hanging.
In 1995, there was another documentary film featuring Flor Contemplacion and Delia Maga in the film of 1995 titled Bagong Bayani (aka “A New Hero” or “Unsung Heroine”), produced by Tikoy Aguiluz. The film stars Helen Gamboa as Flor Contemplacion and Chanda Romero as Delia Maga.
