Fiona Elizabeth Ann Jones (nee Hamilton 27 Feb 1957 to 28 Jan 2007) was an Labour Party politician in the United Kingdom. The politician was appointed as an MP (MP) in the constituency of Newark during Labour’s massive victory during the general election of 1997.

She was elected Member in Parliament from Newark-on-Trent in the general election of 1997 and was able to oust Conservative MEP Richard Alexander, who had held the seat since 1978 general elections. She was featured with 96 other female Labour Members of Parliament on the “Blair babes” photograph, as well as next to Tony Blair himself.

Jones reportedly became reliant on alcohol after she was shunned by her colleagues when she returned to the House of Commons in 1999 – only 34 signed an early day motion welcoming her back to the House of Commons after her conviction was quashed. Her husband said that she refused to attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings in case she was recognised.

However, the Court of Appeal quashed the convictions on 15 April 1999.
