Fabian Wilnis (born 23 August 1970) is a former Dutch-Surinamese professional footballer who was an defender. He was a player at NAC Breda, De Graafschap, Ipswich Town, Grays Athletic and Leiston.
The month of August was when Wilnis was signed by Grays Athletic with a one- year deal. He was released at the close of the season of 2008-09. Wilnis was in the final appearance with Ipswich Town in his Testimonial match against Colchester United in 2009. An incredible own goal scored by Colchester Magnus Okuonghae’s defender and a goal from Jordan Rhodes gave the Blues an 2-0 win. Fabian Wilnis made his final appearance in his Town shirt with just 12 minutes remaining, with his every move was greeted with a cheer with his fellow Blues supporters. Following the final whistle, Fabian Wilnis thanked and said goodbye to Town supporters for the last time , marking the conclusion of his remarkable 11 years in English football, 10 of them playing for the Blues. In December of 2011, he was appointed to his fellow coaches at the Colchester United Centre of Excellence coaching staff.

He was a regular mainly at right-back but often at left-back and latterly at centre-half during the former England striker’s tenure as manager. Wilnis scored the opening goal in the 2–0 win at Norwich City in 2003. Wilnis became one of the longest-serving players at the club. He was the supporters’ Player of the Year for 2005–06.

The return to form of Spanish defensive player Sito Castro, and the solid team with Alex Bruce and Jason de Vos was a challenge for Wilnis to get back to the team. Following the final game of Ipswich’s the 2007-08 season Wilnis declared that he planned to leave the club as a player, however he was looking for coaching positions at Ipswich. However, he was informed that there were no openings on Portman Road at the time that resulted in the end of his long-running relationship for the team. He was let go by the club towards the end of the 2007-08 season.

Following the arrival of Chris Makin during the year 2001 Wilnis was less active and seemed to be heading out of the club following being sacked by Burley when he was substituted during the first part during the UEFA Cup tie at Helsingborg in the latter part of 2001.
