After a half-season of playing in the third division, Everson was loaned out for the BSC Young Boys for the remaining portion of the year. As a Young Boys, Everson helped to make it to their Swiss Cup Final, which they lost to FC Sion on penalties. He was recalled to Benfica during the next season and went on to spend the entire season playing in a non-competitive manner. He was released in the summer of 2007 and was transferred towards Neuchatel Xamax on a permanent contract, scoring his debut goal the 1st of September, in a match against Grasshopper. After having left Neuchatel Xamax, he played briefly for Etoile du Sahel, returned to Germany to play for TuS Koblenz, and closed his career when he was 34 in Gueugnon. In the year 2011, Everson returned to Nice to join the media department. He regularly is a host or interviewer on videos posted on the official website.

The year 2004 saw him made the move to Benfica however he was unable to get into the starting line-up, partly because of injuries. After three years in Benfica and alternating between playing as a reserve player or a loan contract to Young Boys, or not playing the club he was with left to join Neuchatel Xamax in 2007. He played for three more teams before leaving in the year 2011.

Born at Campo Grande, Everson began his playing career in the youth league with Portuguesa de Desportos in 1989 after which he had an eight-year stint at Parana. After a short time in the United States of America (SP) during the early part of 1997, he joined Girondins de Bordeaux to play for their reserve team of the CFA and scored 16 goals in nine games. The record attracted the attention by Paris Saint-Germain, who signed in the same year. After a few coaching sessions in the company of Ricardo Gomes, PSG sold him to Servette and he stayed until the closing of 1997. Then he joined RWDM Brussels in the start of 1998.
