After being picked from the Minnesota Twins in the 2002 Major League Baseball draft, Meek started participating for Twins affiliated team of the Appalachian League, the Elizabethton Twins. In 2004 Meek was a player for Elizabethton as well as also for the Quad Cities River Bandits. Meek began the 2005 season playing for Beloit Snappers.
