Eric Thomas Bjornson (born December 15th 1971) is an ex- American football tightener who played in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots. He was drafted by Dallas Cowboys in the fourth round of the 1995 NFL Draft. He played in the NCAA football tournament at the University of Washington.

In 1997, even though the Cowboys were drafted as tight-end David LaFleur in the first round, Bjornson still was an integral component of the offense. He was in the top spot on team, and even third in the league of NFC tight ends , with 47 receptions. He was also 3rd on the team, with an all-time high of 442 receiving yards, despite having suffered a left fibula fracture in Week 14 that was enough to put him on injury reserve.

In 1999, he played in all 16 games (six starts), finishing with 10 receptions for 131 yards. He was also used as the placekicker holder and had a 20-yard touchdown run on a fake field goal attempt.

On February 29, 2000, he signed as a free agent with the New England Patriots, but was released on November 15. He appeared in 8 games (6 starts), collecting 20 receptions for 152 yards and 2 touchdowns.

He made his debut in the year 1996, following the time that NFL player Jay Novacek suffered a back injury, which eventually forced him to quit. He would later play in 10 games and set record-setting numbers of 48 receptions (second for the entire team) as well as 3 touchdowns even though he suffered two ankle injuries that restricted his participation in the last four games during the regular season and the playoffs.

Bjornson was awarded an academic football scholarship at The University of Washington. In redshirt freshman year 1991, he was the third quarterback, following Billy Joe Hobert and Mark Brunell on the national team. He was transformed into a wide receiver when he was a sophomore, and he threw 14 passes with 170 yards and 2 touchdowns. In his junior year the quarterback was back in the role of a backup quarterback for Damon Huard, getting a chance to play the final three games of the 1993 season with a record of 2-1.
