When he returned to Bilbao He started to appear more frequently and was involved in 23 games as they kept the title. He scored and played in the second half of 1983’s Supercopa de Espana which Athletic lost in aggregate to FC Barcelona, and featured in six games during the run-up to the 1984 Copa del Rey Final including the semifinal match in both legs where Athletic defeated Real Madrid C.F. on penalties. He was then picked for on the pitch against Barcelona and scored the only goal in the game within the 14th minute of the match with a the left-footed strike. However, his feat was largely ignored in the reportage of the game because of the violent scenes following the final whistle, which involved both teams of players. Athletic received the Supercopa immediately following the year having won the double and towards the end of the season, they made it to in the year 1986 Copa del Rey Final, however, they fell 1-1 to Atletico Madrid. Endika was substituted to replace his team trying to overcome the two goals they had lost.

In summer 1987, Endika signed for top division side Real Valladolid, making 24 league appearances but scoring only three time and falling out of favour towards the end of the season. He moved on to second tier RCD Mallorca, playing less often – 626 minutes from 15 matches, two goals – but helping the club achieve promotion in 4th place.

In 1986–87, Endika posted his best figures for Athletic (30 league matches, completing 90 minutes in half of those), benefitting from a serious injury to fellow forward José María Noriega. However, he only scored five goals, with his final appearance for the club being a 2–1 win away to UD Las Palmas on 20 June 1987.

The player was elevated at the beginning of the season following, but he made just seven league appearances, and 3 appearances in the Copa Del Rey, usually being on the bench or being substituted. Under the guidance of coach Javier Clemente, Athletic were at the beginning of to be one of the top-performing times of their history, during which they won the title of champions in Spain between 1982 and 1983-1984, and then finished third in the following two seasons. Endika did not play in the initial of these league titles after being taken back to the third-tier to be a part of AD Ceuta for the whole of 1982-83.
