Tapp on the 8th of January, 2011 suffered a fall from campdrafting that resulted in her becoming a paraplegic. The year 2015 was the time she was enrolled in the Bachelor of International Business and Finance at University of Southern Queensland.
She took home her first paratriathlon when she won the PT1 category at the OTU Oceania Paratriathlon Championships at Penrith, New South Wales.
