Emily Pfalzer Matheson (born June 14 on the 14th of June, 1993) is an American female ice hockey player who is currently captain of the Buffalo Beauts of the National Women’s Hockey League (NWHL).
In the 2015-16 season, Pfalzer was named captain for Buffalo Beauts Buffalo Beauts on November 11 in 2015. In November, during a game in which they played the Connecticut Whale, Pfalzer would have five assists, establishing the Beauts team record of the most points in one match.. In January of 2016, Pfalzer captained the 1st NWHL All-Star Game, opposing Team Knight captained by Hilary Knight.
Internationally, Pfalzer plays for United States women’s national ice hockey team and has won a gold medal at the 2015 IIHF Women’s World Championship, 2016 IIHF Women’s World Championship, 2017 IIHF Women’s World Championship and the 2018 Winter Olympics.
Pfalzer was selected to participate at the 2018 Winter Olympics, where she helped Team USA beat Canada for a gold medal.
After her college career Pfalzer was selected for the United States women’s national ice hockey team for the 2014 IIHF Women’s World Championship. The following year , she was selected for the 2015 IIHF Women’s World Championship.
