I. du Pont de Nemours and Company (“DuPont”) in Wilmington and was also an former director at General Motors. Forbes placed her at 31st on its list of the 100 most powerful women in 2014. Kullman quit her job at DuPont on the 16th of October 2015.

DuPont’s board of directors has appointed Kullman president and director of the company. Her appointment came into effect on October 1st, 2008 the Chief Executive Officer, going to effect on January 1st of 2009. She was the 19th executive and was the first woman to be the chief executive officer of the company during its more than 212 years of history. Fortune magazine named Kullman fifteenth on its list of most powerful fifty women in the world for 2008, and ranked her fifth in the list for the years 2009 and 2010. In 2014, she was listed by Forbes as being the number 31 most powerful female worldwide which was an increase from the 42nd position in 2013. The Wall Street Journal named her as eighth on their 2007 listing in the category of “Women to Watch”.

She was a member of the Executive Committee of The Business Council for 2011 – 2013.

On June 6, 2013 the US-China Business Council announced that Kullman had been elected as its Chair.

Kullman worked as director at General Motors from 2004-2008 and was elected to the board of trustees at Tufts University in 2006.

Kullman is born Ellen Jamison in Wilmington, Delaware The younger sister from Joseph as well as Margaret Jamison. Kullman has two older brothers and a younger sister. Kullman went to Tower Hill School in Wilmington and later studied mechanical engineering in Tufts University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in 1978. She graduated in 1983 and earned the master’s degree in management from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
