Dillinger is one of the most popular and richest Singer who was born on June 25, 1953 in Kingston, Jamaica. Lester Bullock (born 25 June 1953) more popularly known as his stage name Dillinger is an Jamaican reggae singer. It was the first wave of toasters who gained fame in the late 1970s.
The album he released in his third, Clash, a Clement Bushay-produced duel featuring Trinity did not sell well in comparison to a subsequent album recorded by Hoo Kim (Bionic Dread). He attempted to recreate the popularity from “Cocaine” in 1979 with the eerily similar “Marijuana in My Brain”. The single, as well as an album with the same name however, did not have the same success and prompted A&M Records to sign him. Dillinger’s agreement with A&M led to the album Badder Than Them, but when it failed to make a significant sales impact, the album, he was dismissed at the hands of the company.
His recorded output dropped in the second half of the 1980s, although he also started producing other artists. He returned to recording more regularly in the early 1990s, but didn’t repeat his earlier success. He went on to start his own Scandal Bag label.
He has continued to record and perform into the 21st century, and toured internationally with Trinity and Ranking Joe in 2000, and with Yellowman in 2014.
Albums by Dodd (Ready Natty Dreadie) and Hoo Kim (CB 200) were to follow. His smash hit “Cocaine in My Brain” which was recorded by Hoo Kim (which was heavily influenced by “Do It Any Way You Wanna” by the People’s Choice) was hugely loved throughout the world, and was a top-rated chart-topper across the Netherlands. Dillinger was a frequent visitor to the UK. time in England in the early days of punk rock. He also in 1978, alongside Leroy Smart and Delroy Wilson the song was featured by the lyricist Joe Strummer in The Clash’s song, “(White Man) In Hammersmith Palais”.

The singer was born in Kingston, Jamaica, as an early teen, Dillinger was a frequent visitor to Dennis Alcapone’s El Paso sound system. This experience would lead him to his employment in 1971 as a DJ on Prince Jackie and El Paso. Prince Jackie as well as the El Paso sound systems, initially inspired through Big Youth, U Roy as well as Dennis Alcapone, and performing as “Dennis Alcapone Jr.”. The first producer with whom who he worked alongside was Lee “Scratch” Perry, who determined that Bullock changed his moniker to Dillinger in honor of his gangster John Dillinger. Perry recorded his first session, which “Dub Organizer” was released as single. A number of Perry-produced singles were released, but only with limited commercial success.
