Deron Timothy Quint (born on March 12, 1976) is an American former professional defenseman in ice hockey. The couple is Jessica Poland. His hockey experience includes his time playing in the National Hockey League with the Winnipeg Jets, Phoenix Coyotes, New Jersey Devils, Columbus Blue Jackets, Chicago Blackhawks and New York Islanders.

He was in 2005 when he was a part of Eisbaren Berlin of Germany’s Deutsche Eishockey Liga and guided the team to three league championships over the course of four seasons. In the 2006-07 DEL season and he joined the New York Islanders and returned to the NHL with five games and helping in reaching playoffs. Quint came back to Eisbaren in 2007 and 2008 for the DEL season, and was named one of the DEL Defender of the Year for 2008, and helping his Bears towards another title. Quint was the top scorer for defensemen in the 2008-09 season, as well as setting a record for the franchise by having played in 237 games consecutively, and taking home a third DEL Championship. Quint also was an DEL All-Star defensive player for the duration of three years.

Quint would play for Traktor Chelyabinsk in the 416 (the most by any North American) games and scored 189 (75 + 114) points. Deron was a two-time participant in the KHL All-Star Game in 2013, 2014, the top scorer among defenders in the league in 2011, 2014, and winner of the League in 2012, a silver and bronze medalist of the KHL in 2012, 2013.

On May 1, 2013 he signed a two-year contract with HC Spartak Moscow. On January 15, 2014 due to Spartak’s financial woes, he was traded to CSKA Moscow together with Jeff Glass for a monetary compensation. On May 6, 2014, Quint opted to return to his past successes in the KHL, by signing with Traktor Chelyabinsk.

In the NHL lockout that led to the 2004-05 season being canceled, Quint played for Bolzano HC in Italy. Quint has since been a player in the HC of Kloten as a player in Switzerland.

When he was a kid, Quint played in the 1989 and 1990 Quebec International Pee Wee Hockey Tournaments along with the minor ice hockey squad of Rye, New York.

Quint was selected thirtyth by Winnipeg at the time of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft As a rookie in the 1995-96 seasons with 2 goals within a mere four seconds period, he set the NHL record recorded by Nels Stewart of the Montreal Maroons in 1931. The following season, the Jets were renamed they were the Phoenix Coyotes and Quint remained in Phoenix until they traded him to the New Jersey Devils on March 7, 2000, in exchange for Lyle Odelein. Quint was only able to play four games during the regular season for the Devils before being transferred for the new Columbus Blue Jackets on June 23 of the same year, where the Blue Jackets remained for two seasons as his fellow Blue Jackets in minutes played per game. In 2002-03, Quint returned to the Coyotes for a second time and later joined in the Chicago Blackhawks the next season.

After four years, he left Germany and signed with HC Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk team of the predominantly Russian Kontinental Hockey League. In 2010, he signed with Traktor Chelyabinsk. He set a record for most goals scored by a KHL defenseman in 2010–11 and was selected to the KHL West All-Star team in the 2012–13 season.
