Dennis van der Heijden (born 17 February 1997) is a Dutch professional footballer, who plays as forward at TOP Oss on loan from Italian club Carpi. He has also played for his country’s Netherlands U20 national team.

Van der Heijden made his debut for ADO Den Haag on 14 February 2016 against Excelsior. He came on as a replacement for Vito Wormgoor at the end of the first half in the 77thminute when Den Haag trailing 2-1, and scored two goals to ensure the club won the 4-2 victory that came from behind. He made history as the very first Den Haag player to score two goals on his debut since Dmitri Bullykin’s debut in the year 2010. On 24 March, van der Heijden signed his first professional contract, signing a three-and-a-half-year deal. The season ended with nine games and two goals in the process of The Hague finished 11th in the Eredivisie. On June 17 van the Heijden was named the runner-up in the ADO’s Goal Of the Season award, for the goal he scored against Excelsior and was beaten by 4percent to goalie of the club Martin Hansen.

On 3 July 2018, van der Heijden signed a four-year contract with Italian side, Carpi.

He scored twice on his professional debut for ADO Den Haag but failed to score again in the Eredivisie over the next year and half. As a result he spent the remainder of his second season with the club on loan at Volendam before signing a permanent deal with fellow Eerste Divisie side Almere City at the end of the season. There he spent a further season before relocating to Italy to join Carpi in 2018.

Van Der Heijden scored his first goal of the season in the day of his KNVB Cup debut in a victory 2-1 against Telstar on October 25, 2016 after coming off the bench and scoring the winning goal in the 81st minute the game. Van Der Heijden failed to score in his 16 Eredivisie appearances in January however and by the end of the month, he was transferred to Eerste Divisie club Volendam. His debut came for the club on February 3, 2017, with a 3-1 loss against Emmen when he scored the first of his goals 10 days later, scoring Volendam’s opening goal in a 4-2 victory against Utrecht II. The final result was that he played 9 times during the season, scoring three goals in the process as Volendam lost in the play-offs for promotion in the play-offs for promotion by NAC Breda.

He ultimately recorded a return of seven goals for the league campaign in what proved to be his only season with Almere.
