He was a student at his time at the University of Iowa where he was the most prolific player in the Big Ten Conference in 1979. He also created Iowa records for career and single-season rush yards.
Mosley also scored an interception of 77 yards during a game with Iowa State in 1977. His 270 rushing runs in 1979 were also an Iowa record breaking the previous record of 65 runs. He was the leading rusher in Iowa’s history at 2,133 yards.
In the summer of 1981, Mosley participated in training camp and pre-season games with the Ottawa Roughriders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
