Dennis Diken (born February 25 in 1957) is an American DJ, drummer and author. He is also a music historian as well as a founding member of the Smithereens that he founded in the year 1980 along together with Pat DiNizio, Jim Babjak along with Mike Mesaros in Carteret, New Jersey. In addition to performing with members of the Smithereens, Diken is a DJ who fills in on WFMU and also an author of liner notes and researcher for the reissue project. As an artist, Diken has recorded or performed with, for instance, Ronnie Spector, Dave Davies, Nancy Sinatra, Mary Weiss of the Shangri-Las and Ben E. King, as well as worked with other musicians, including Dave Amels and R. Stevie Moore.

The album is credited to “Dennis Diken with Bell Sound,” Diken released the album Late Music in 2009 on Cryptovision Records. Recorded and written by his long-time friend Pete DiBella, the 1960s influence album features the 1960s group the Honeys who sing backing vocals and also musicians Andy Paley and Jason Falkner. Dennis Diken with Bell Sound recorded a cover version of “Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes)” to be used on an album to raise money for charity entitled Super Hits of the Seventies for the radio station WFMU in 2012. Diken was also a part of two hits in 2014 for The punk rock band Osaka Popstar, “Hopping Ghosts” and “O Holy Night”.
