Denis Kulyash (Russian: Denis Kuliash born on May 31 1983) is a Russian professional ice hockey defenseman who currently plays in the HSC Csikszereda in the Erste Liga. Kulyash is a long-time player of Russia’s national team of ice hockey famous for his tough slap shot that earned him the name of “Tsar Cannon” (Russian: Tsar’-pushka ). Kulyash is currently the holder of the record for the fastest ice hockey shot , previously recorded by Boston Bruins defenceman Zdeno Chara who clocked 110.3 minutes (177.6 kilometers/h).

On May 3rd on the 3rd of May, 2011 Kulyash was named the new player for the league’s Ak Bars Kazan. In May 2013, he signed a contract extension of two years for Avangard Omsk.

During the 2018-19 season, his 11th in the KHL, Kulyash made 24 appearances with Severstal Cherepovets, before leaving the club and the league to sign for the remainder of the campaign with Korean club, Daemyung Killer Whales, of the AL.
