On April 28, 2012. Deng established a brand new Super League record for consecutive clean sheets in 643 minutes. He beat his previous mark of 620 minutes, set by Yang Zhi of Beijing Guoan during 2011, during the season. Deng was in the lineup for each minute during the 2012 season of the league and played in every one of the of the 30 Super League games for Jiangsu Sainty when the club finished second place in their league. He only missed one league game throughout the entire season. In the following season, was a continuation of his status as an ongoing fixture in the club despite its slow start to the season that was that they were in the area of relegation. However, the team chose to controversially break up during the season following being in dispute against authorities from the Chinese Football Association over the punishment of the club for a clash with Beijing Guoan on 27 September in 2008 after there was a fight during the game. Without a club Deng Xiaofei had to wait until the 2009 league season began before he could be part of another team, but the club was able to find an investor from newly promoted top-tier team Jiangsu Sainty at the start of the 2009 season of the Chinese Super League.

On 2 January 2016, Deng transferred to fellow Chinese Super League side Chongqing Lifan after Gu Chao joined Jiangsu Suning in a domestic record transfer for a goalkeeper. He made his debut on 6 March 2016 in a 2–1 home win against Guangzhou Evergrande. He played every minute of the league for Chongqing in the 2016 season.
