DeJuan Groce is one of the most popular and richest American Football Player who was born on February 17, 1980 in Garfield Heights, Ohio, United States. As as a high school senior Groce has been selected one of three captains of the team. Groce was able to continue his impressive career by playing in every game of the redshirt season of his senior season. When he played Troy State, Groce set the school record and also tied an NCAA record by scoring 2 punt returns touchdowns, as well as an interception in the first quarter in a win of 31-16. Groce also set record or unofficially tied for four records at NU, and also established an NCAA record. Groce also joined in 1972 Heisman award recipient Johnny Rodgers as the only players in NU history to accumulate 1,000 yards of punt return in a career. On December 2, 2002, the Groce earned an education degree in Communications.

After high school Groce decided to attend at the University of Nebraska over Michigan State, Indiana, Ohio State and Syracuse in which Groce played football as well as part of the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity. In his freshman year, Groce was redshirted. As a red-shirt freshman, Groce played in every game as the left corner backup and was the left corner as Keyou Craver was moved in the opposite direction to play nickelback. Groce made at least one tackle in all 13 games and was able to record 24 tackles. As a redshirt sophomore, Groce broke Ralph Brown’s record for passing breakups during the season, with 17. In 2001 as a redshirt junior, he was the most prolific player in his career playing every game as a cornerback, as well as returning punts and kickoffs. Furthermore, Groce was named a First-Team AP All-American for his punt-return tasks, and he finished fourth nationally in punt return yards with 17.0 yards per return.
