In the following years Renshaw’s future with Bobby Hamilton Racing (BHR) was not clear. BHR was forced to look for an alternative for EasyCare who had quit as the main sponsor. Additionally, the team announced Bobby Hamilton, Jr. would be running only a few races in the truck during the season of 2006 which included Montgomery returning for the opening race at Daytona and there was no plan for Renshaw were made public. Then, on the 1st of February, 2006 The Tennessean reported the pullout by EasyCare caused Deborah her race with Bobby Hamilton Racing, which effectively ended her racing career. On November 1, 2006, Deborah got married to NASCAR team Chief Shawn Parker.

Renshaw was a participant during 14 of fifteen races in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season with the number 29 Ford F-150 for K-Automotive Motorsports. While she did not finish more than 15th, in one race she was the first woman to lead an event in the series by leading only one lap in the Darlington 200. Renshaw was a part of Bobby Hamilton Racing’s drivers training Program in November 2004. In addition to Chase Montgomery in the #8, Renshaw became the first woman to attempt an entire schedule in any of NASCAR’s three major series. She was able to miss only one race during the season of 2005. She was a top-ten finisher in two races which included 8th place in the race at Nashville Superspeedway in August. Her final place in the points standings was 24th.

Renshaw first took part with NASCAR when she first began competing during the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series in 2001 and 2002. In the two seasons she raced she was in the top ten of thirteen times, and set a record for qualifying when she took the race on pole position at Riverview Speedway. She was also the first female driver to be the leader of in a NASCAR sanctioned race in 2002 when she was a point leader with Joe Buford following racing in 2002’s second round in Nashville Speedway USA. In the summer of 2002 she came under the attention of other drivers entered a vehicle in an race with the sole purpose of finishing ahead of her in order to be criticized. She was forced to miss the following two races, but returned to the season, and was tenth overall in the race to win the championship of the track.

Renshaw spent the 2002 season racing in the ARCA Re/MAX Series, where she was in the top three times. But, while she was there Renshaw was involved in an incident which claimed the life the other driver Eric Martin, another controversial incident in her career. After Martin was initially crashed during a training session in Charlotte and was alive and speaking with his crew via radio. Three vehicles that walked up to Martin’s car did not know Martin was present since their spotters weren’t there. However Martin’s car was not in their sights when it slowly moved across the track, before hitting the wall. Eight seconds after it was brought to a halt, Renshaw who was also not spotters, crashed into Martin with full force, leading to Martin’s death. The accident prompted the hiring of spotters when their driver was racing within NASCAR or ARCA.
