Since the beginning of in 2009 Iyall was performing new songs written by Peter Dunne in a number of venues local to Northern California. In 2010 , Iyall’s Solo album Stay Strong, was released. Then in the month of January, an EP entitled Singing Until Sunrise was released. On November 2, 2019 Debora Iyall received the honor with the Lifetime Achievement Award in the 19th Annual Native American Music Awards.

Romeo Void parted ways in 1985. The following year Iyall made her debut self- titled album Strange Language on Columbia Records. After receiving a mixed reception to Strange Language, Iyall went back to the first loveof music, working as an artist and instructor. Through the 1990s, Iyall taught arts at 29 Palms Cultural Center and for the Arts Council For San Bernardino. They also organized hikes, and also made talks for Agua Caliente Cultural Center as Docents for hire, and in 1995, she founded Ink Clan, a print shop that teaches screen printing and other techniques to the youngest Native artists. Ink Clan was once housed in the South of Market Cultural Center in San Francisco. She currently lives in Sacramento, California, with her husband as an audio engineer, instructor and Patrick Haight.

While studying at in the San Francisco Art Institute, she was a part of Frank Zincavage and Peter Woods to form Romeo Void in 1979. Inspired by Joy Division, the band was notable for their contemporary punk style, as well as for Iyall’s powerful speechless delivery. They achieved hit status on college radio stations when they released the provocative and multi-leveled track “Never Say Never” in 1982. Their hit song “A Girl in Trouble (Is a Temporary Thing)” placed them at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and appeared in Dick Clark’s American Bandstand in 1984.
