Yastremska has made her junior Grand Slam debut at the 2016 Australian Open, where she made it to the singles quarterfinals. In doubles she made it to the final but fell against Anna Kalinskaya and Tereza Mihalikova together with her compatriot Anastasia Zarycka. Yastremska was unable to compete in Grade A tournaments the remainder in the calendar. In the Copa Gerdau, she lost in the singles semifinals to Amanda anisimova. In the doubles tournament she played alongside Panna Udvardy to take home the only Grade A championship of her career, beating the American team comprised of Caty McNally, and Natasha Subhash. After a third-round appearance as a singles player at the 2016 French Open, Yastremska concluded her junior career at Wimbledon. The last time she played she was the sole player to make it to her junior Grand Slam singles final. Yastremska had a slow start to the 2018 season. She lost in the second round of qualifying at the Australian Open. After injuring her ankle at the Abierto Mexicano in February, she did not enter any tournaments in March. With a ranking well outside of the top 100, she needed to enter qualifying at her first seven tournaments of the year, reaching three main draws. At the last of these events, Yastremska produced her best result, finishing runner-up to Rebecca Peterson at the $100K Open de Cagnes-sur-Mer. Dayana Oleksandrivna Yostremska (Ukrainian: Daiana Oleksandrivna Iastrems’ka born on May 15, 2000) is a Ukrainian professional tennis player. She holds a record-breaking Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) ranking of No. 21 worldwide and in 2020, was the second-highest ranked teenager , behind Bianca Andreescu. Yastremska has taken home three WTA titles over four finals appearances.
Yastremska experienced early success as a junior. She was second at the 12 and under Junior Orange Bowl in 2012. She began her career at the ITF Junior Circuit in March 2014, at age 13. At the close of 2014 she was awarded her first title in the Grade 4 level in November. After this win she was able to move up to competing in higher-level events more often. Yastremska was able to reach an Grade 1 semifinal on July 1st in Austria and also won an award in Grade 2 at the end of August in Hungary.
