David McDaid is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on December 3, 1990 in England, United Kingdom. David Gerard McDaid (born 3 December 1990) is an Irish professional footballer who is a player with NIFL Premiership side Larne as striker.
Derry were kicked out of The League of Ireland First Division for the season of 2010, with McDaid being among the four first players to join the club along with Shane McEleney, Patrick McEleney and James McClean, having committed to a two-year deal. McDaid scored the sole goal in the team’s opening victory of the season against Limerick on March 12, 2010. McDaid scored his first senior hat-trick in a 7-0 victory against Salthill Devon on 1 May 2010. McDaid completed the season with five goals in his 28 appearances and was a contender alongside Mark Farren for the leading striker position in a 4-4-1-1 formation that saw Derry were awarded their First Division title. McDaid started with Derry when they won a 1-0 victory against Cork during their 2011 League of Ireland Cup Final and concluded the season with three goals in 28 games.
He signed for NIFL Premiership club Coleraine on 17 December 2013, although he would not be eligible to play until the following month.
McDaid re-signed for former club Derry City on 1 July 2013, saying “Other clubs expressed an interest in me but I wouldn’t play for any League of Ireland club other than Derry City – I’m happy to be turning out for my hometown club again.” He made his return in a 2–1 defeat away at Shamrock Rovers on 12 July 2013, before scoring in the following game, a 4–2 away loss to Turkish Süper Lig team Trabzonspor in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League on 18 July. McDaid made 16 appearances and scored seven goals for Derry during the remainder of the 2013 season.
He was loaned by Finn Harps of the League of Ireland First Division in the beginning of the 2009 campaign. McDaid scored his first goal for Finn Harps, scoring an 84th-minute equaliser during the 1-1 draw against Kildare County on the opening day of the season. McDaid scored two times in his 12 games for the club , before returning back to Derry during the course of summer 2009. McDaid was a part of Derry’s Derry first team and made his debut as an 84th minute replacement in place of Liam Kearney in a 3-1 defeat at Galway United on 16 October 2009. The first goal he scored for Derry was scored in his second appearance which was a 2-1 loss at home to his previous loan club Sligo which was then followed by goals in subsequent matches in the games against St Patrick’s Athletic and Bray Wanderers. The 2009 season ended with three goals across five matches for Derry.

McDaid was a player in Northern Ireland at Schools Under-18 level, McDaid was capped twice by the Republic of Ireland national under-19 team in the year 2008. McDaid made his debut when he beginning a 1-0 friendly loss to Czech Republic Czech Republic on the 5th of February 2008. McDaid’s first and sole appearance goal for the club was the third goal scored by Sligo during a 4-0 victory at home against Cobh Ramblers on 27 September 2008, before completing the loan in nine games.
McDaid signed a new contract with Derry in January 2012, contracting him to the club for the 2012 season. He played in the 2012 Setanta Sports Cup Final, which Derry lost 5–4 in a penalty shoot-out following a 2–2 draw after extra time. His final appearance for Derry came in the 3–2 extra time win over St Patrick’s Athletic in the 2012 FAI Cup Final at the Aviva Stadium. McDaid finished the season with 17 goals in 44 appearances and was offered a new deal by Derry, but opted instead to go on trial with English League Two side Fleetwood Town.
