David Knox is one of the most popular and richest Coach who was born on August 3, 1963 in Coogee, New South Wales, Australia. He also played for Petrarca Padova Rugby (1986-1989) which he was a part of winning his 1987 National Championship, Rugby Livorno (1990-1992), Bristol Rugby (1998) and Racing Metro 92, Narbonne (1999).
He was dismissed from Leinster in 2008 to go back to Australia and in an interview after his departure, he was highly critical of Irish Provincial team Munster as well as the selection of new Irish Coach Declan Kidney.
From 2013-15 while as a teacher at Sydney Boys High School, also coached the 1st XV while helping with all junior grades’ development.
Knox has been a coach at Padova (2000), Waverley College (2002-2003), South Sydney Rugby League (2003) and Randwick (with Michael Cheika). He was hired in 2005 and was a part of Michael Chelka to Leinster as backs coach. In 2005, Leinster reached the semi-finals and quarter-finals for the Heineken Cup, and won the Celtic League title.

Knox was selected 13 times by Australia and was part of 1991’s Australian World Cup champion squad. Prior to winning the eight First Grade Premiership with Randwick He was sacked of his Second Grade Premiership to the highly competitive Eastwood Rugby Club team in 1983.
In 1996, he was a player with the ACT Brumbies, where he later held the position of assistant coach of the backs during Super 12 (now Super 12 (now Super Rugby) between 1996 and 1998. This included that 1997 Super 12 season against the Auckland Blues. He also took part for the Currie Cup with the Sharks between 1997 and 1998.
He has also done annual consultant rugby coaching in the United States from 2011 to 2016, with stints at Columbia University in New York City, SFGG in San Francisco and most recently at Morris Rugby & Drew University in New Jersey.
