David Stephen Celermajer AO FAA FAHMS (born 8 December 1961) is an Australian cardiologist and is the Scandrett Professor of Cardiology at the University of Sydney.
Since 2003 Celermajer has been appointed as the director of clinical services at the Heart Research Institute.
The year 2002 was the time that Celermajer won the Commonwealth Health Minister’s award for excellence in Health and Medical Research In 2002, he was awarded the Commonwealth Health Minister’s Award for Excellence in Medical Research in 2006 the award was conferred upon him as to the rank of fellow in the Australian Academy of Science. The year 2014 was the time he received the title of an Officer of the Order of Australia for his “distinguished service to medicine in the field of cardiology, as a clinician and researcher, to improved medical diagnostic methods, and to the promotion of heart health, particularly in children and young adults.” In 2018 , he was appointed a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences.

Celermajer was the son Celermajer is the son of John Celermajer and Tina Celermajer, both Polish Jews who survived the Holocaust. At the age of 11, Celermajer won a scholarship to Sydney Grammar School. He later won the World Universities Debating Championship. The graduate graduated from University of Sydney with a medical degree in 1983 and also won the Rhodes Scholarship that same year. He holds earned a PhD in the field of children’s heart diseases in the University of London, which was awarded in 1993 and a doctoral D.Sc. at Sydney’s University of Sydney.
In 1996, Celermajer published a study showing that exposure to secondhand smoke was associated with “dose-related impairment of endothelium-dependent dilatation” in the arteries of healthy young adults.
