David McGinnis (born August 7 1951) is an ex- American soccer coach as well as a collegiate player and is the current color commentary for the Tennessee Titans Radio Network. The former assistant coach at the Los Angeles Rams from 2012 until 2016 and was as the coach for the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals from 2000 through 2003.

McGinnis was appointed Linebackers Coach, Assistant Head Coach for the Tennessee Titans in 2004. In the prior year’s Titans game, he took over Frank Wycheck as the color analyst for the Tennessee Titans Radio Network. The position was initially planned to be temporary, but McGinnis returned in the 2018 season.

McGinnis was the central character in the embarrassing public relations mistake made committed by the Bears back in the year 1999. Following McGinnis had an interview for the head coach post on the 22nd of January on a Thursday the team’s President Mike McCaskey prematurely organized a press conference for the following day, with national and local news media, to unveil the hire by McGinnis as the 11th head coach of the Bears. This news was a shock to the most notable of them, McGinnis who had not reached a deal on the contract. To keep their cool the Bears delayed the press conference and offered an apology personal for McGinnis from the chief of Bears ownership, Ed McCaskey. But, McGinnis was not happy with the manner in which the team conducted business and resisted any future consideration. The team also hired Dick Jauron as head coach during the off-season.
