In the gold medal match in the 1998 Winter Olympics, Goyette scored the sole goal scored by Canada. It was one of the only Canadian goal to be achieved at an Olympic women’s hockey gold medal game. She was ranked first at 2002’s Winter Olympics with 7 assists and was tied for first place by scoring 10 points. In the same year Goyette scored 8 goals at 1998’s Olympics. Goyette ended her career in the international arena with scores of 113 scores and assisted 105 times playing for 171 times.
The goal she scored was at the 2003 Esso Women’s National Hockey Championship to assist Team Alberta win the Abby Hoffman Cup.
In 2007, she was named head coach of the University of Calgary Dinos women’s hockey program. In the summer of 2010, Goyette participated in the evaluation camp for the 2010–11 Canadian national women’s team. She was a coach for Canada Red (the camp was divided into four teams, Red, White, Yellow, Blue). Goyette has been coaching Hayley Wickenheiser since the 2010–11 University of Calgary Dinos women’s ice hockey season. The Calgary Dinos won the women’s 2011-12 Canadian Interuniversity Sport National Championships in Edmonton, Alberta.
