Daniel “Danny” Naud (born on 20th February 1962) is a Canadian professional coach of ice hockey and past professional athlete. He is currently the head coach at Eispiraten Crimmitschau Germany.
Before the 2005-06 season, Naud was hired as head coach of the Landshut Cannibals, where he began his international playing career in the year 1986. He stayed for two years in the position, but prior to returning to his hometown of Quebec in 2008, where he was employed as an assistant coach for QMJHL’s Victoriaville Tigres in 2008-09.
In 2010-11, he worked in the Swiss top flight NLA, serving a stint as an assistant coach at EHC Biel before moving to fellow NLA side HC Fribourg- Gottéron, where he held the same position.
From 2011 to 2014, Naud took over head coaching duties at Austrian HC Innsbruck, guiding the club to the Nationalliga championship title and to promotion to the country’s top-tier league in his first year. After three years at the Innsbruck helm, he did not have his contract renewed following the 2013-14 season.
After his retirement as a player Naud was appointed as assistant coach of the Augsburger Panther, a member of the German elite league Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) in the year 2000. As an athlete, he been in the club. In his first year as a coach, Naud was promoted from assistant coach to head coach after the Panthers ended their relationship together with Bob Manno in October 2000. Naud was let go of his position in November 2002 following an 11-game losing streak. He became the head coach at German second division side Bietigheim Steelers on January. Naud remained on the team until the conclusion of the 2003-04 season then he was appointed as the head coach of Straubing Tigers, another German second division team, during 2004-05. Naud led the Tigers to the 2. Bundesliga finals.

Born in Trois-Rivieres in Quebec, Naud played professionally in the AHL as well as the IHL before transferring the game in Europe in the year 1986. As a defenseman, his overseas career spans Germany (EV Landshut Augsburger EV/Augsburger Panther TuS Geretsried), Switzerland (SC Langnau) and France (Dragons de Rouen) and ran from 1986 until 1999.
Naud joined the coaching staff of German DEL team Hamburg Freezers for the 2009-10 campaign, serving as assistant to head coach Paul Gardner.
