Danie Dames is one of the most popular and richest Namibian rugby union player who was born on February 7, 1986 in Koës, ǁKaras Region, Namibia. Hendrik Daniel Petrus Dames (born 7 February, 1986 from Koes) was a Namibian international union rugby player who has recently was with Griquas. He is an winger or full-back.
He was back with the Leopards in 2009 for the Currie Cup Premier Division. He remained with Potchefstroom for five years, scoring 27 tries over 65 games with the Leopards in the Currie Cup and Vodacom Cup competitions.
At the end of 2013, Dames joined Kimberley-based side Griquas.
He made his debut as a senior in 2008 when he was a part of his Sharks’ Vodacom Cup side and named the Natal Wildebeest in the 2008 Vodacom Cup competition, with his debut came in their game against Pumas at Durban. He was part of eight matches in the competition, including an Currie Cup pre-season compulsory friendly match against the Griffons and another four in the Sharks XV in the 2009 Vodacom Cup, but was not able to make it into the Currie Cup side.
