Dacia Valent is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on February 12, 1963 in Mogadishu, Banaadir, Somalia. Dacia Soraya Valent (12 February 1963 until 22 January, 2015) was Somali born Italian politician, and former member of the European Parliament.

On July 26, 1992, Dacia Valent was the founder of an non-governmental group called SCORE and was appointed as its Chairperson. In 1995 , as an active member of the group, she backed the efforts of the group composed of Somali women who opposed requests for sexual favors made by members of the CGIL trade union in exchange for concessions on the distribution of food. The CGIL did not deny the facts in the media and Dacia Valent was declared guilty of defamation at an appeal to the Court. In April 1995, she was detained for trying to murder Luc Tchombe Mutshail, a citizen of Zaire who she was with as an infant; Tchombe was wounded by Valent using a knife in the course of a dispute. In 2002 she was sanctioned the Italian Auditor General and Comptroller General for a lack of proper management of the funds deposited by SCORE by the Italian Government to SCORE which was supposed to be used to construct temporary residences and help centres for immigrants who were not legal. In the end, she missed the chance to be appointed as a Minister of Immigration in the Berlusconi government as minister of Immigration.

In November 2006 Dacia Valent was indicted for aiding and abetting in a robbery against a Polish immigrant who had turned to SCORE for help. In October 2007, she was sentenced to one year in jail and a 15,000 euro fine for defamation and threats against the former director of Telepadania. In October 2008, an article published on her personal blog, titled “Italians bastards, shitty Italians”, which reportedly featured a number of derogatory comments against Italians (specified also as «whites and Christians») ignited some strong outrage from the press.

After a failed time in her career as an Engineering student, and following the dissolution from her union (during which she had two children) she was a member of police force Polizia di Stato and was initially assigned to the Police station located in Milan. Then, she was assigned to the mobile squad , and afterwards to the special VIP security service in Palermo. The incident occurred in January of 1989. when she was in the field, Valent stated that a obviously drunk man abused her with a slew of racist comments and refused to present her identification papers and physically assaulting her. In the course of this moment, Valent was on patrol with two male colleagues , whom Valent claimed were negligent in their assistance and who tried to downplay the incident because the person who assaulted them was drunk. Valent denied the suspect conduct by her coworkers to media, and during this incident, in conjunction with her past she was able to gain support and also gained large amount of attention.

Dacia Valent was born and raised in Mogadishu and was the daughter of an Italian father and an Somali mother.
