His third and final goal of the season came against Aberdeen on 26 February, where he scored the winning goal at Pittodrie.
Glen had been accused of having an attitude towards his sport from manager Csaba Laszlo. He was subsequently unable to make it into the Hearts team in the 2008-09 season. He did not make another first-team appearance until December 2008, playing against Aberdeen as in substitute. On the 11th of January, 2009, Glen was substituted in the final 10 minutes of the game and scored a crucial 94th minute score in the match against Hibernian on Easter Road in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup to knock Hearts rivals in the city off the competition.
