Cormac Brennan (born on February 2, 1995) is a union rugby athlete from Ireland. He is able to play in a variety of positions in the backline, primarily in the back line, but also covers center. Brennan currently is a player in the Irish Pro14 side Connacht, coming through the provincial’s academy. He plays club rugby with Galwegians.

Brennan was named in the list of newest players joining Nigel Carolan’s Connacht academy prior to the season 2015-16. The transfer into the Connacht academy also saw him join Galwegians at the senior level, having played in the youth team of the club. In his initial season at Connacht’s academy Brennan was a regular player for Galwegians within the All-Ireland League and also played for the Connacht Eagles, the province’s second-tier side. Brennan began his practicing with the team, and was selected in the senior team at first during the 2015-16 Pro12 match against Ulster on April 1st, 2016. However, the team did not have him on the bench. Brennan is one of the four Academy players that had training with Connacht throughout the season, but without being selected to the senior squad. The team was able to qualify for their Pro12 final, however they were not the only players in the team paid to take four players to the final in Edinburgh to acknowledge their work.

Brennan was the first player to play for the senior side in a preseason friendly that was uncapped against Montpellier on August 11, 2016. In the regular season, However, Brennan suffered a long-term injury that kept him from earning the first caps. Even though he was only in his second year in the three-year academy program the announcement was made on May 17, 2017 Brennan was signed to an extension to his senior contract during the season 2017-18.
