Conner Bleackley (born February 7 in 1996) is an Canadian professional hockey player. He currently plays for the Maine Mariners in the ECHL. Bleackley was first picked for his team the Colorado Avalanche in the first round (23rd overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, but did not sign an entry-level deal, which forced Bleackley to enter for the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, whereupon he was picked from the St. Louis Blues in the fifth round and 144th overall.
Bleackley’s draft stock grew and he was being rated a top prospect and was seen as a potential first round selection in 2014. NHL Entry Draft before he was chosen to be selected by the Colorado Avalanche. When Bleackley attended his debut NHL training camp during the season, the Avalanche were concerned about his fitness and quickly sent him back into his place in the WHL not with an entry level deal. The 2014-15 season saw Bleackley maintained his scoring rate in previous seasons, scoring 47 points and 27 goals during 51 matches. On the 6th of February Bleackley was injured in his ligament in his groin. This effectively ruled his absence until the postseason when Red Deer suffered a first-round defeat.
With the Avalanche intending not to offer Bleackley a contract, at the trade deadline on February 29, 2016, his rights were included in a trade alongside Alex Tanguay and fellow prospect Kyle Wood to the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for Mikkel Boedker. Citing his injury history, the Coyotes also declined to offer Bleackley a contract and instead chose to receive a compensatory second- round draft pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft; Bleackley will be required to re-enter the same draft.
During the off-season in the lead up to the 2015–16 season, Bleackley returned to the Avalanche rookie and training camp with ambition to earn an entry-level contract. With an improved physical performance, Bleackley was later returned for his final season of junior after competing in a pre-season game with the Avalanche. Prior to the commencement of the WHL season, Bleackley was relinquished of the captaincy by the Rebels, with coach Brent Sutter explaining the intent to focus on reaching his potential. With a guaranteed berth at the 2016 Memorial Cup, Bleackley struggled in the early stages of the year offensively. Bleackley picked up his offensive production and scored 41 points in 47 games before suffering a broken kneecap against the Everett Silvertips on January 23, 2016.
At the age of 17, he was selected to play in Canada Pacific’s team Canada Pacific at the World U-17 Hockey Challenge as well at 18 he was able to help Team Canada capture the bronze medal at the 2014 IIHF World U18 Championships.

Bleackley was picked for the Red Deer Rebels in the 1st round (21st overall) of the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft from AAA Bantam club the Okotoks Oilers. After playing another half-season of midget hockey for the UFA Bisons of Strathmore in the Alberta Midget Hockey League he made his WHL debut during 2012-2013 season.
In just his second complete season for the Red Deer Rebels he was named captain of the team as a 17-year-old during 2013, 2014 season. Bleackley, while showing versatility in his position, was a force offensively for the Rebels and scored a career top 28 goals as well as a total of 68 points over seven games. His impressive play was acknowledged when he was picked to play in the CHL/NHL Top Prospects game.
After his re-selection in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft by the St. Louis Blues, on July 2, 2016, Bleackley was finally signed to a three-year, entry-level contract.
