Christine Dranzoa Biography

Christine Dranzoa is one of the most popular and richest Academic who was born on January 1, 1967 in Moyo Town, Moyo District, Uganda. Born in the year 1967, she was in what was called Moyo District at the time. The district she grew up in is now known as Adjumani District. Christine Dranzoa holds the degree of Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Zoology. She earned it in 1987 from Makerere University, the oldest university in East Africa. Additionally, she holds the title that is Master of Science (MSc) in Zoology. She earned it in 1991, as well as in the same institution, Makerere University. The doctorate from Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biology was earned from the same institution in 1997. She also has around half a dozen certificates of conservation management, conservation, and project management of Ugandan as well as International institutions.

Since 2006, the founded Nile Women Initiative, a non-profit non-governmental organization that aims to tackle the gender gap that affects women living in women in the West Nile sub-region of Uganda. She is the chairperson for the NGO.

In 2005, she became a part of the administration of the university in Makerere and was appointed Deputy Director for the School of Postgraduate Studies at the university. She served as such from 2005 to the year 2010. In 2010 Professor. Dranzoa was appointed to be the leader of a three-person taskforce that was created to plan for the establishment of Muni University, which would be the sixth university that is public in Uganda. On January 12, 2012 as the university was established and was officially established, Dr. Dranzoa was appointed the first Vice-Chancellor of the institution.

In 1992, Christine Dranzoa joined Makerere University as a lecturer in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. She was the director of the Wildlife Section in the Department of Veterinary Anatomy from 1992 to 1996. From 1997 until 2005 she was the director of the Department of Wildlife and Animal Resources Management in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, an institution she co- founded with colleagues.
